Pinky is returning home after being sand blasted and painted with a
primer/sealer. There were no major dents in the body and the body
preparation went very fast. Feb. 2005 |

This picture demonstrates how we went about moving "Pinky" during
the paint and body phases of the restoration. Utilizing the front part
of our rotisserie allowed us to install the front suspension and
steering assemblies after the engine compartment was completely painted.

This Is Dan "The Man" Oullette with the caulking gun. All seams in
our 1964 Ford Falcon 2 Door Sedan were resealed. This was necessary as
all sealer was removed during the paint stripping process. Feb. 2005 |

The trunk, interior and engine compartment paint color, although
still of the pink variety it is a shade darker than the outside color.

Although it may appear that so far, Dan "The Man" has done all of
the work, I was spending all of my spare time polishing the stainless
steel moldings. One never realizes how much stainless there is on a 1964
Ford Falcon Futura until the polishing is about half finished. Mar. 2005 |

We were fortunate enough to get some really great weather where we
could paint outdoors. Thank goodness for these great paints and the very
low pressure needed to spray them. Mar. 2005 |

I was finally able to start reinstalling some of the stainless steel
moldings. There sure are a lot of them on this 1964 Ford Falcon Futura 2

The polishing of the stainless trim is a very time consuming
process. I probably spent 100 hours just on the stainless. May, 2005 |

As can be seen in the picture, the front suspension has been
reinstalled along with the entire drivetrain. I was also able to get
started reinstalling the aluminum side trim moldings. June, 2005 |

All of the aluminum side trim moldings, along with the grill and the
Futura rear panel were sent to Los Angeles for refinishing. The
refinishing and anodizing of the aluminum parts is a very specialized
business and Ano-Brite does an excellent job. June, 2005 |

June was a very busy month. I was trying to get this 1964 Ford
Falcon Futura 2 Door Sedan ready for the show field at the Falcon Club

The engine compartment requires detailing, detailing and then some
more. The aluminum radiator can be clearly seen and is an interesting
contrast to the normal black space seen behind most grills. June, 2005 |

Well, here it is finished for the time being. This 1964 Ford Falcon
Futura 2 Door Sedan came from the factory with fully tinted windows.

Sometime during it's previous life, a rock had gotten thrown through
the rear window. Since I was unable to locate a tinted rear window in
the timeframe given, I tinted the rear glass. July, 2005 |

I installed some 13 inch wheels, tires and a set of N.O.S. 13 inch
simulated wire wheel covers. This is a very pink car. July, 2005 |
