Now available from Falcon Enterprises. The safety and increased stopping power you need for any 1964-65 Falcon or Comet ( A/T or M/T ) in a very easy to install unit. This setup utilizes a new Bendix style power brake booster with increased sensitivity and a 1 year warranty,* new large capacity dual chamber master cylinder, specially designed mounting bracket to allow direct bolt in while retaining original brake pedal assembly and clearance of the shock tower. The push rod is preset but is adjustable to move the pedal height up or down.
We do recommend using a bolt-in export brace, as it allows easier installation and easy access to full master cylinder.
The modification necessary is bending the brake lines from the master cylinder to the distribution block. You will need to relocate the brake light switch, which is typically done in the rear brake line. We also offer a rebuilt distribution block (part number C5ZZ-2B257-A) which is not included in the brake booster conversion. This part may be required depending on what the Falcon or Comet is currently equipped with. This part is recommended for all 1964-1966 disc brake cars. 1967-1970 cars already have one from the factory, but it is a good idea to replace it. This kit is easy to install and works excellent on both drum or disc brake cars. This is a very economical solution for those that are looking for an improved brake system along with added safety of dual chamber master cylinder. Note: Booster requires a minimum of 15 LBS of engine vacuum pressure at idle for maximum stopping power. Some high pressure lift camshafts may not create enough vacuum. Stock engine vacuum pressure is 18 LBS.
1960-1963 owners: This unit will not fit your vehicles due to the length of the assembly. The 1964-1965 Falcons & Comets had power brakes as an option and therefore had a notch molded into the rear of the shock tower for proper fitment. This notch is not present in the 1960-1963 shock towers. However, if you want to modify the shock towers and install the notch, there is no other reason you couldn't use this Power Brake Booster Assembly.
